Thermo Materials was founded in 1967 to commercialize fused silica ceramic technology that originated at the Georgia Institute of Technology. The company became a division of Ceradyne, Inc. in 1986 and operates an 85,000 square foot manufacturing facility near Atlanta, Georgia.
